Hello, I have a XXX-T RTR brushless edition that I run occasionally on a tight indoor track. I've noticed that many trucks can change direction much quicker than I can, and I finally realised that this is because they have a much faster steering servo. I still have the stock JR servo in my truck, and I'm wondering what you guys are using for steering servos. If it doesn't cost too much, I'd really like to get a faster servo.
So what servos is everyone running, and what has your experience been with them?

I'm a HUGE fan of JR servos. Something like the 8450/8417 used shouldn't run you more then $50 and are GREAT servos. Don't think you have to go out and buy a $150 brand new servo.
Heck, I'd even ask around some of the guys at the track. I know I have a couple servos in my box that I'd sell, I'm sure there are guys at your track that are the same way! (Look for the guys that have 3-4 boxes full of stuff- they don't need it all, and most of the time they know it!!!)
Oh yeah, and NICE NAME!!!!

hey thanks for the reply! I'll check out those JR servos. My servo is awesome, very good quality, just a bit slow, so I'm sure any other JR servo would be the same good quality. That's a good idea to ask the guys at the track, I never thought of that actually!
My name is taken from Showtime 100, an F-4 Phantom flown by Randy Cunningham and Willie Driscoll in Vietnam. It's been one of my favourite warplanes for most of my life...one of my other hobbies is aviation!

The Spektrum H6040 servo is only around $80. It is a helicopter servo but I am using it in my truck right now and it works fantastic. Can't beat the specs either. I hear Spektrum may be coming out with a similar spec surface servo but this one has been holding up well so far. IT is by far the best deal out there for these types of numbers in a high end servo.

thanks for the help mate i'll check it out $80 seems alright, defo better than up in the hundreds. i'm running a Spektrum receiver and DX3S, both of which I love, so going all spektrum probs wouldn't be a bad idea.
