View Full Version : Fan Guard for 1/10th Xcelorin

Anyone make\buy a fan guard for the ESC? I'd like to protect it somehow as they take a beating.....

I am not sure but I have seen people use either a thin piece of lexan or a piece of wire to go across the fan. The lexan one would be super easy to make out of a scrap off a body. Use the fan screws to hold it in place.

I don't use my fans. They really should only be needed for 6.5 or less in offroad. I tend not to run anything hotter then a 7.5 in my cars and my ESC is always cool.

I got a 6.5T setup in a 4WD, so I would like to run the fan. I might try lexan to make a dome perhaps......

Just a thin straight piece across the middle should work fine. You are basically trying to keep the fan from popping off. You are also trying to keep the body from hitting the top of the fan blades which can break off the blades.

I ended up making a + across the ESC fan area with some Zip-ties.

cool.. i'll have to try this... the Losi fans break pretty easy.. on the 3rd one now.. grrr

hi guys, could you tell me where i might get a replacement fan for my xcelorin esc 1/10th i'm running a 6.5t in a ZX5 indoor racing so want to make sure its nice and cool and the fan is missing from the one i have,
