So I just got a MRC and been messing around on some bricks, havent taken it out on real rocks yet. Im planning on using the NIMH batteries. They are bigger then the LIPO's. I did move the battery to the back diff as it has a good platform to hold it, and used velcro to secure it.
I have coming in the mail a tube chassis for the MRC. Its from HBUSA. I found this pic http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o56/mikegigabyte/HBZ1.jpghttp://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o56/mikegigabyte/1niner2.jpg

On the website that sells it, they show what looks like the NIMH battery right under the front roll cage where the front shock tower is. I have no idea what this chassis comes with, has anyone bought this one. I would like to know where the electronics need to be mounted because the pics dont show much. If you have any pics could you post them, I would rather get any extra parts needed before I get the chassis.

Ive been looking at this myself pleas post when you get it. I like my battery on the servo helps climbing alot. Ive had my mrc for about three months love it. :D From the looks in the picture you would just need to extend the battery connections mount the esc on back axle and the transmitter in the center maybe behind the motor? just a thought good luck

I got it, installed it, moved all the radio equipment around, but I didnt like how small it made the truck look. The frame is very small. My truck came with a free lipo and battery plate so I used that to mount the battery up front, and mounted the receiver on the back arm, esc on the rear axle. Here is a pic

Maybe it would look better with some lexan panels but I dont have any right now so I just took off the frame and installed the stock one. Will probably sell it so if your interested let me know.

When I first tried to put the esc on the rear plate in stock set up, the wires were too short. In your set up, apparently the wires are not a problem. I eventually used the Novak system, which has long wires.
I'm personally planning a future MRC project with the TCS Mini Edge chassis kit I purchased earlier with full droop suspension. I will keep my original MRC (modified, but maintaining original chassis design and conventional suspension) and build a separate MRC running gear for the Mini Edge project. I'm also waiting on a Gatekeeper Designs Mini GC-3 chassis kit and will do the same with this project as with the Mini Edge, except the GC-3 will have a partial droop design similar to the Venom Creeper with internal anti-roll springs. That's right, three separate MRC based vehicles with three separate chassis designs and three separate suspension systems! Each vehicle will be powered with Novak. The MRR (the original one) and the Mini Edge will have a Hitec HS-5245 MG steering servo sharing the top of the front axle with the Losi LiPo battery. The Mini GC-3 will have a Hitec full size servo (I like Hitec) with the Losi LiPo on a rear upper link shelf. All vehicle will have a Losi receiver on a front upper link shelf (I like the Losi's short antenna lead). I'll also try to put the Mini GC-3's four-link suspension system on the Mini Edge and maintain three-link on the MRR. Why MRR? I nicknamed the original MRR for Mini Rock Rod. In the real world of crawling (where a smaller engine is just fine), the rock rod is the vehicle with a big block V8 in it. When you swap out for Novak, you swap out your "V6" for a "V8". Love that power. You'll love the combo of Novak, Hitec, Losi LiPo, aluminum shocks and Claws in blue. With the shocks inverted (upside down) and some extra weight on the front axle (if aluminum wheels are not in your immediate future). Place the receiver on the front upper link and the esc on the rear link on shelves (you should have nothing on your upper radio plate), put 45wt shock oil in the shocks and use three hole pistons in the front, a one hole in the left rear and a two piston in the right rear. and be prepared for the coolest version of your MRC!:D
Good luck on your project. The MRC is the coolest member of the Losi family. I hope they maintain this original design when the Mini Comp Crawler come out. Yeah, I think we're going to see a worm drive mini. I'll love it, but I still want the original. There's a scaler somewhere in the future;)

Ive long given up on the tube chassis. Went back to stock. Just got the novak mongoose esc and there brushless motor combo and now I have the esc where the receiver was in the pic above, and receiver on the transmission. Now looking at the tube chassis my esc wouldnt be hanging out the back. Still have the chassis in a box. Havent decided if I want to paint it black and use it again. The chrome is just to shiney. Im thinking the chassis would look great on a micro.

Always like the looks of a tuber and I may just mount this one on again. Not sure if the esc connector will hit the frame. I did make some body panels for the chassis but I dont like the tie's used to hold it on.

Here is how my stock setup is now

The chassis is only available in chrome, unless someone painted it. What brand is it?

I decided to try the chassis again, and painted it but just assembling it the paint was chipping off showing the chrome underneath, so I tore it apart again.
I just refinished it last night, sand blasted the chrome and blued the metal. The type of finish used on guns, its a chemical that stains the metal so its an even finish and doesnt chip or crack and can be touched up with a q tip in only the bad areas. Also made some body panels and skinned them with graphics. Except for the crappy white zip ties I think it looks pretty sick.

This guy in Canada hand made it, from brake line you can buy at auto parts store and brazed together. Its really nice and looks great. I love how low it is. But to get the most from it you need to use a 4 link setup.
Its a little heavy but I got it for looks

Here is a super steep rock I was going up
These arent poser pics, I was driving up

How much do you want for it?

Chunky_Lover

Since your in germany, its going to be more because I have to get to the post office and fill out all those forms for your country
so I would say $75 should cover the extra cost to ship it

if your in the usa $55 shipped free

WeekendWarrior

sry but that is way too much for 75$ I get a new one shipping included to germany

Chunky_Lover

I dont think so, new its $78 plus shipping
and it doesnt come with the ball ends for the shocks, or have the custom finish mine has or the body panels

plus like I said, your in another country so I have to fill out customs forms, and my time to do that and the extra shipping cost

thats why I have it such a low price in the usa free shipping and I can sit at home and print up the label, and have them come pick it up for free

and if you look on there site, the last pic is of mine which is cool
