desert truck diff or just buy some balls for the diff and take out the locker (cheaper, more maint). I changed my shocks to DT valves, it is cheap. 35 fluid front and rear, lower the truck so the arms are level. Don't bother with DT tires, they are terrible. Get pro line gladiators for bashing or if you are going to race use whatever everyone else is using. I got my XXXT to go really good on an indoor course then decided to see what the speed t would do. With the same tires as the xxxt, I got it almost as good. More time I could have got it. You can change the front shock tower to xxxt and change the shock angle more, it helps. Other than that practice, change, practice, change. Its a good truck for the money and can be excellent offroad no matter what some others on other sites say.

How much work is it to remove the locker and put the DT diff in?
What's the part numbers for everything required?

I PUT THE DT DIFF IN THE S-T IT WORKS BETTER THEN THE LOCKER.
YOU HAVE TO PUT THE DT TRANS CASE IN.
PART #S
TRANS. CASE #LOSA2919 $7.99
DT DIFF SET #LOSA2930 $19.99

I TRYED THE BALL DIFF BUT STIPED DIFF NUT 3 TIMES AND GAVE UP.
I WILL TRY AGIN.:p:o

Yes, the DT set up is nice, in my speed t right now and have beat it with 3s alot. Funny how on some of the sites guys say this is a weak link and don't even own one. Ball diffs can be a pain for noobs. I lost at least three before I got it. My XXXT has had the same ball diff for about 8 months. I must say though that I got the gear diff to work just as well as the ball diff. Put fluid in it... I think I have 7000w

I am setting up a Speed-T for Off-Road as well. Will run 13.5T & Mod truck if available. Used B-Fast to convert to a Ball Diff.

It is also a Mid-Motor setup as well. :D

I used Bfast Part P70 to convert the Speed-T to a Ball Diff. 22.50$ shipped. I also use their
diff & thrust bearing lube as well.

Diff rings, carbide balls and a caged thrust bearing. It's super smooth.

My truck is in the photo gallery as well somewhere :D

Plastic gear MSX digital losb0818. It works.

I would get a JR/Spektrum Z590 as a inexpensive alternative.

I received a spare DT diff today and it has the wrong screws. Got it all ready and greased and the four screws just fall in the holes. Screw are to small or holes are to big. Chris

Screws not aligned up with the holes?

Speed-T did pretty good last night off-road testing. It had pretty much the kit setup with 30w oil all around on a Blue groove clay track. Ran pink taper slicks all around.

There is no off-road setup for this truck, so might as well start how it comes out of the box. :D

No, I have three of these diff's and have rebuilt them a number of times installing new outdrives. Chris

Call to Horizon I guess it is? I am guessing the holes were not formed right. You prob can verify with a screw from one of your other diffs.......

The other two diff are installed in the DT and ST, did not want to tear one apart just to verify the screws. I have an email out to LosaPartsHouse about. Just thought maybe someone else got one with the wrong screws.

On edit: I google of "LOSA2930 wrong screws" turned up others that had the same problem.
