What do you guys feel is a good torque rating for a 2wd electric buggy(xxxcr) and a 2wd truck(xxxtcr)? I run oval, but I want enough torque to keep a positive feel in the middle of the turns when most of the weight is on the right front. Thanks in advance guys for the help.

JD,
Too much is never enough!

Spektrum just came out with a great servo. The H6040 has 167oz of torqe and .08 sec speed for only $80.

I run standard buggy ribs. Do you guys think 111oz/in would be enough? I have a servo in it now with 200oz/ins, but I want some more speed. Thanks guys for the help so far. Adam there is never enough for you like a 4.5 and a 5.5! I went down from a 8.5 to a 10.5 and it is plenty of motor lol.

Anything above 100 will be plenty.

I recommend a servo that is .1 or faster and 100 oz or more of torque for any 10th scale car.

Thank you Casper. I am really on a budget, but I found a servo that has 111oz/in and moves at .09 plus it is digital. Granted it is another cheapo servo but I am not afraid to use cheap or offbrand parts. I run turnigy 25c 5000 batteries (20 bucks a piece), and they are awesome plus they run just as good if not better than my team scream 45c 5000 (130 bucks). And I am happy with my 10 dollar tower pro servo but want something faster.

I'm not sure why you're wanting a faster servo, as getting too fast a servo just leaves one with a really twitchy oval car - and you spend a lot of time correcting your corrections. As casper said, anything above 100 torque rating should be plenty.

I feel more comfortable with a faster servo. In my losi mlm I have a digital hitec servo that is ballistically fast for the little car. It is either .09 or .1 with right at 35oz/in, I feel more in control with a faster servo with faster response time.

Speed is very nice when it comes to steering. I have used JR9100S servos in my nitro and electric sprint cars for over two years now. You would think they would make the car twitchy but actually they seem to give you a much better feel of what the car is doing in the corners and you can make corrections so fast it does not upset the chassis as much as a slower servo would.

I have been racing since 1985.

You are right and thats why rtr cars come with slow servos. ;)

You appear to have such a good grasp on what you think is right, it puzzles me why you're asking about anything..............

but I give up :D

I was asking about torque to keep the tires at the angle I want them not twitching if I hit a lil bump in the corners. But thanks casper you gave me the info I needed.
