I ordered the losi metal pinion gears to replace the plastic pinion gear and there is no way the metal gear will go on. The shaft on the motor is quite a bit larger then the hole in the pinion gear. So know since you have to destroy the plastic gear to get it off the motor, i have to go buy another plastic gear to replace it if I want the same 16t. The gears I orderes specifically said to be used on all the mini motors, late model included. Thanks Losi:mad:

DSmith: I hope you found your answer on the pinion installation. Maybe RobbieT can shed some more light on the gear installation regarding a gear press or if after he deburred the end of the shaft the gear slid right on? If that does not work I will see if I can contact a Losi employee tomorrow and post an answer for you tomorrow night.

DSmith, RobbieT: while your questions and input is very valuable information to all racers, the direction your remarks were headed are not appropriate here and do not do anybody any good. I cleaned up the thread so please take the personal attacks and comments to pm's please and keep the thread on topic. Thanks guys.

I got it on, no thanks to RobbieT. Its people like him that make internet forums bad. I still think its bad you have to modify the motor to get a part to work.

RobbieT in his own way did answer the question. Everybody has their own sense of humor and yes DSmith was a little harsh in his original post but we all have been upset at things that did not work how we thought they should and at least asked for some help. This is the place to get help. The downside to forums is how things can be taken the wrong way very easily. You cannot see facial expressions or tone of voice so one sentence can be taken many different ways and thats how things escallate beyond what was initially meant as a response.

DSmith, glad you have your gears on and ready to win some races.

RobbieT, no need to be sorry for answering the question. Just go easy as there are guys on here from youth to senior, novice to pro. What you might find as second nature might not be to the next guy.
