Blinking Red LED is Low Voltage Cutoff notification. Are you using the ESC card to program? The High Performance setting profile #1 is set for a 3 Cell LiPo for cut-off as well.

ESC Warning LEDs:
• If the Battery low voltage cutoff (LVC) is reached the
Red LED will blink.
• The Red LED will automatically turn off should the
battery voltage recover above the Low Voltage
Cutoff chosen.

Hmm....only other thing I can think of is to re-calibrate the ESC to the radio possibly?

Setup / Calibration to Transmitter
To perform the setup/calibration between the ESC and
Transmitter follow these steps:
1. Turn on the transmitter.
2. While turning on the vehicle Press and Hold the
setup button, notice the Yellow LED is now ON
solid. When the Yellow LED is on solid you can
release the setup button.
3. Using the throttle trigger pull Full Throttle until the
Green LED is ON solid.
4. Next push the throttle trigger to Full Brake until the
Red LED is ON solid.
5. Now return the throttle trigger to the Neutral position
and the Blue LED is ON solid.
6. Turn off the vehicle/ESC power switch.
7. Turn the vehicle/ESC back ON; you are now ready to
use the ESC.

If you are selecting the factory profile #1, it has an LVC set for 3S (9.0V). Your fully topped 2S will only have 8.4V. This would trigger the LVC and flash the red LED. When you connect the ESC to the PC, make sure that you set the LVC to lipo 2S (6.0V) and send the setup. Just for good measure also send the throttle and brake curves. Once you've sent this setup, the ESC will no longer be in the factory profile #1. Also make sure that you are using the latest firmware, which is 3.4 at this time. File located here:

I am using the latest Firmware 3.4

Many ppeople have the same problem....you can see it in other forums.

I select with the Software Profile#1 and set the LVC to 6.0 Volt......i have the same Problem, the red led flash and i can´t go fast with the car.

i think the firmware has a lot of "bugs"!

What can we do??

Here is a diagramm from a drive with a Lipowatch with datalogging with LVC "Nimh No Cutoff"
You can see that the Lipo ist okay.

Only in LVC "Lipo Cutoff on" the ESC has Problems

Falcon/Roger - Thank you for sharing the data log graph. Obviously you are well above where the LVC should kick in. Does the car immediately slow down once the red LED starts blinking? I will have to look in to this further and hope to have a fix soon.

Hi Brian,

yes, the car slow down when the led is blinking. when i go to full throttle there is a space (short slow down) in the middle an then the car goes to full speed.

This Problem i have ever and ever by pushing the Throttle Trigger!!

Falcon/Roger - This doesn't sound like a firmware problem. I think the unit needs to be replaced. I would recommend contacting Horizon Hobby product support. Sorry for your problems.

Same problem here. Red led starts to blink after a few rounds.
Lipos are still more than 50% full.
Looks like the Lipo-Cut off function is not working any more.

It worked for a few days, when it was new.

Is there any diagnostic function in the ESC to check, what's wrong?

JO

Same problem here with 1/8 excelorin. I can send the unit to be replaced, but the problem is I live overseas, so shipping cost is very high (around $50). Would Horizon cover the shipping from me to them? That would be great since this is their responsibility.

Typically it is the owners responsibility to get the defective part back to Horizon.

A 1 Lb flat rate box to Indonesia is just over 12$ US funds. First class international is even less, and I'm sure it is lighter than a Lb which would make 1st class even cheaper.

but not sure what options you have for shipping over there?

OK, I'll send to Horizon. Should I send only the ESC or also the motor?
